Almost every man, woman and child lost their only means of transport due to the attack of the Tsunami. We hope to provide them with 300 bicycles in the areas of Kalmunai, Batticalo, Matara and Hambantota.

We aim to provide plastic shells of 250ltr capacity to the families of 3 villages, to enable them to have safe drinking water. Quantity required: -1620 nos Cost per tank: - Rs. 1000 (Rs. 850.00 per tank + Rs. 150.00 for transport)

PROVISION OF ADEQUATE HOUSING

Housing is an urgent need, and we are liasing with the government to comply with their plans for rebuilding. The land that we will be building on has been donated by the government, and we have plans for completely rebuilding two villages.

|

Purpose: - To provide Houses for the effected areas in the Southern Province.

Required no. of houses: - 33 The new proposed houses are 500 s.f. with 2 rooms, I bathroom, 1 living room and kitchen. Cost: - Price per house: - Rs. 450,000.00 US$ 4500.00
Total Running Cost: - Rs. 14,850,000.00 US$ 148,500.00

5’ X 4’ LATRINES PROJECT

Requirement: - 100 latrines to be spread in the areas of Batticalo and Kalmunai.

THE BUILDING OF A NEW HOSPITAL
|
|
|
A Hospital is planned for Batticoloa and we are talking to another charity in the area about combining forces to start with a permenant clinic in the area, and raise funds and staff to build a hospital. We need to organise free land from the government, and the necessary experts to design and plan the building.
